This was a cross community/cross-border project delivered to a group of thirteen young people from Donegal, Derry and Belfast.  The project looked at diversity within our society, it was delivered over a 10-week period and resulted in an OCN Level 1 in Understanding Diversity in Society.

For this project young people from Rathcoole Bytes, Derry Bytes, County Donegal looked at the increased diversity within Irish society, reasons for these changes and the positive benefits which can result from a diverse society.   14 of the participants on this project successfully completed an OCN Level I Understanding Diversity in Society qualification and included:

  • A relationship building activity which involved a trip to The Bloody Sunday museum, a tour of the Bogside murals followed by bowling and dinner.
  • A three-day residential to Ganaway activity centre.
