PRESS RELEASE Peace III Funding for The Bytes Project

The Bytes Project gratefully acknowledges the support of Castlereagh/Lisburn Peace 111 Partnership & the Special EU Programmes Body for the funding to deliver Peace III Programmes.
The Bytes Project will work in Partnership with Inishowen Partnership and other umbrella groups i.e. NCDI Newtowncunningham & Buncrana Youth Drop-in Centre, County Donegal.
The delivery of the “What Unites Us” program will commence in January 2011 and will target young people from Tullycarnet in Belfast, Poleglass in Lisburn, Buncrana & Newtowncunningham in Co Donegal and aims to:
Build cross-border links between community groups and their youth participants that will:
- Raise awareness of cultural diversity issues and how this impacts lives
- Improve self-esteem, social responsibility, respect for others
- Tackle sectarianism/racism & social issues
- Offer tailored structured training programmes with accredited outcomes.
- Promote good relations in all communities including ethnic communities
The “What Unites Us” program will conclude in June 2011 with a Celebration & Presentation of Certificates event and the screening of a film, music and literature all created by the young people involved in the program.
